From the moment you first drive up to the Bill Richardson Transport World, it is clear that this is a petrolhead’s heaven. Located in Invercargill, Southland. The museum is home to more than 300 vintage and rare vehicles, displayed in chronological order from the 1880s to the 1980s, including one of the last model T Ford trucks ever made and V8-powered utes and American trucks like a 1940 Dodge Airflow Texaco tanker.
The museum is a vintage vehicle museum home to New Zealand’s largest collection of vintage automobiles and trucks. Widely considered to be NZ’s leading transport attraction, the award-winning Museum attracts all ages for its fun family experiences, the opportunity to see and learn about the rich transport history of Southland and a café renowned for its fine coffee – The Grille.
They also have a huge collection of vintage vehicles used in commercial transport spread over 14 acres of modern exhibition space.
